How to Disagree Kindly on LinkedIn (and Other Social Media Platforms)

Scrolling through LinkedIn can be a joy...and it can also be extremely frustrating, especially when you see something you disagree with and/or believe is totally factually wrong.
Especially if the post topic is something that is triggering to you, it's easy to have a knee jerk reaction and just hit the keyboard and type a response letting the person who posted know, in no uncertain terms, how wrong they are and why.
Problem is, when you do that, the person who posted isn't necessarily going to "listen" to your explanation. Or learn from what you have to say. After all, they already think they are "right" and it's "their post". So why would they consider your comment or point of view?
My fabulous friend Mark Graban and I often talk about kindness and psychological safety. A few years ago we published a broader article on how to spread kindness and reduce unkindness on social media.
This article on commenting kindly delves a little deeper on the particular topic of how, when and why to disagree kindly on LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
And the same strategies and skills apply when you are in a meeting at work, or sitting around the dinner table at a family gathering or the upcoming holiday.
Take a read and let me know what you think! Even if you disagree!
