Recognizing team member's efforts and work are a regular part of Kind Leader practice!

My daughter started a new job a couple of weeks ago, and this morning she texted me that she was super happy because her new supervisor had let her know what a good job she was doing!
As leaders, it’s easy to forget how important it is to recognize, on a regular basis, the great work that our team members are doing, and the time and effort they are putting in to reaching their own and the team’s goals!
So today, here are three easy things you can do immediately to recognize your team members:
1. Say “Thank You”! Two little kind words that cost nothing, and let your team members know that they, and the work they are doing, are appreciated!
2. Focus on effort as much as outcome! Let people know how much you appreciate the time and effort they are putting in! Without time and effort, no outcomes and results occur!
3. Be specific! Let your team member know how their particular work contributed to the team’s success! People want to know that their efforts are making important contributions to the bigger picture!
Thanking people and letting them know how much you appreciate them and their work aren’t an afterthought or add on, but a regular part of regular Kind Leadership practice!
Who will you recognize today?
