Recognition is Kind...and Key!

I went out to dinner with my son last night. We decided to eat at a restaurant he used to work at that is now under new ownership.

While we were eating, my son reflected on the difference between his time working there, and his experience working in his new role managing a different restaurant. He said, “I really loved doing the job here, but not once in three years did my boss ever say ‘thank you’ to me. It’s great to have a promotion and a salary now, but the best thing about my new job is that every night, before we close the restaurant, my new boss says ‘Thank you so much for all the hard work you did today. I really appreciate it.’ I feel like my hard work is recognized!”

Being paid well for the work you are doing is vital.

Feeling seen, appreciated and cared for is priceless.

Your team members give your organization the “time of their lives”. Time that they will never get back.

Please make sure that you “recognize them” with good wages and your kind words.
